FAQ โ€” Time Calculator

Common questions about this page โ€” answers customized for the data shown above.

The Time Calculator adds or subtracts any combination of days, hours, and minutes from the current moment. Enter the duration, choose direction (earlier or later), and submit โ€” you'll get a result page with the exact target date and time, plus the same moment expressed in 14 different formats (ISO 8601, Unix, RFC 2822, military, etc.).

'Earlier' subtracts the duration from now (going backward in time โ€” useful for questions like 'what time was it 3 hours ago?'). 'Later' adds the duration to now (going forward โ€” 'what time will it be in 6 hours?').

Results live at clean, shareable URLs like /time/ago/2-days-3-hours-15-minutes/ or /time/from-now/0-days-6-hours-0-minutes/. The URL captures your inputs, so you can bookmark or share any calculation.

Yes โ€” use the dedicated quick-pick pages: Minutes Earlier ยท Minutes Later ยท Hours Earlier ยท Hours Later ยท Days Earlier ยท Days Later. Each shows a grid of common durations.

The current calculator anchors at 'now.' For arbitrary date arithmetic, use the calendar to visualise the gap, or convert a specific date to a Unix timestamp and do arithmetic on the numeric value.

The calculator gives a one-time answer (e.g., '3 days from now = Monday, June 2, 2026'). A countdown is the same calculation updated live, second by second, until the target moment arrives. Use the calculator for quick lookups, countdowns for ongoing tracking.

The result page shows the target moment's ISO week number among its 14 format variants. For looking up week numbers for any date, see the week number lookup.
