FAQ — About Time.so
Common questions about this page — answers customized for the data shown above.
Time.so is a free world-time site that shows live, accurate local time for cities, countries and time zones worldwide. Browse cities, countries, time zones, and IANA zones, or use the interactive time zone map.
All clocks on Time.so synchronize with our server clock on page load, then tick every second in your browser. Server time is itself NTP-synced, so accuracy is typically within a fraction of a second of UTC. The sync offset for your device is shown above the main clock.
Use the search bar at the top of the page, or browse the lists of major cities and countries. Each city page also includes sunrise/sunset, moon phase, and weather for the same location.
Time.so includes a time calculator (add/subtract days, hours, minutes), Unix timestamp converter, sunrise / sunset tables, live countdowns for holidays and custom events, public holidays by country, a calendar, week number lookup, weather forecasts, and an alarm, timer and stopwatch.
On first load, the large clock at the top of the page detects your location via GeoIP and shows time for your country. Until that detection completes (and as a fallback for blocked IP lookups), it shows UTC. You can always click any city in the list to view its specific local time.
Yes — Time.so is free to use, with no signup required. Read more in our articles section about time, time zones, weather, and public holidays.
Most operating systems sync to NTP servers periodically, but small drift between syncs is normal — anywhere from a few milliseconds to several seconds. The sync-accuracy line above the main clock shows the exact offset between your system and Time.so's server.
